Holidays with Your Horse

Enjoy the summer with a Holiday with your Horse at Adds Farm

The Summer season is in full swing at Adds Farm with lots of happy guests enjoying our facilities and the wonderful riding on the Ashdown Forest and so great to see so many familiar faces from last year returning for another visit.

As well as our regular B&B guests with their horses, we have already hosted 2 very successful camps with Amanda Barton and Janine Lamy. Janine’s camps are always popular and we have

May camp with Janine Lamyanother 2 scheduled later in the year and also 2 more with Martine Weber providing the training.  The camps are great fun for everyone – including the organisers and the hosts – so I am really looking forward to the others.

My one disappoint this season is that my horse Trevi is out of action having damaged all 4 suspensory ligaments following a freak tumble in the school.  He is currently on 8 weeks field rest before further scans to review and decide on next stage treatment.  I am also giving him treatment with ArcEquine micro current therepy and really hoping this will speed his recovery as I am really missing riding him but resigned to him needing some considerable time off.  I think it may be time for Mr Wolsey to come out of his semi retirement so he is being brought back into light work to see how it goes.  In the meantime Chris and Hector are having lots of fun taking out the weekend guided rides across the Forest with our guests.

Summer patio

I’ve just finished planting up the patio with summer bedding plants and its looking really colourful – just ready for that essential glass of vino in the evening after a long day riding.

Yuki in garden

Yuki, the Adds cat is certainly enjoying relaxing in the sunshine in the gardens.

Shady river garden

Our earlier damp problems around Adds Farm are now all repaired and everything redecorated and looking good again (well just the same as it was before actually – its difficult to see what has changed).  Also, much relief as after a long and fraught battle with the insurance company they have finally paid up!

We have a busy couple of months coming up now with lots of bookings and I’m looking forward to meeting our new guests.  As usual we are posting lots of new photos on the Adds Farm Facebook page to keep in touch with everyone.  Keep those wonderful comments coming – we really appreciate it!
